I am currently employed by Charter Communications (Spectrum brand) as the Director of Incident Management. In this role, I oversee the company’s enterprise wide Critical Incident Response Program. Prior this role I was the Sr. Manager overseeing investigations and training for the ten states Midwest Division, which includes the major metropolitan areas of Milwaukee, St. Louis, Kansas City, Indianapolis, and Cleveland. Prior to that I was assigned as a manager overseeing project management for all security related projects in the the ten-state division, including participating as a member of the cross functional team for all new store builds, remodels, and relocations. Charter Communications is a Fortune 100 company over 30 million subscribers in 41 states. Under the Spectrum brand, Charter Communications provides television, internet, phone, and mobile products and services.
I enjoy developing and maintaining relationships across the various business units within the company, and developing and executing plans to keep our employees, customers, and visitors safe, whether they are in the field, at one of our call centers, warehouse, or retail outlets. The safety and security of our employees, customers, and visitors is a top priority for the company and me personally. I have spent a significant amount of time working with our public facing retail division on training, risk assessment, loss prevention, and overall asset protection.
The Corporate Physical Security business unit is the designated liaison to law enforcement. We enjoy excellent relationships with law enforcement at the federal, state, and local levels.
Prior to joining Charter Communications, I enjoyed a three-decades long career with the Milwaukee Police Department, my last ten years as an assistant chief, number two in the department.
As a senior executive-level police leader I had a proven track record of success in leading change, team building, leadership development, accountability in management, implementing risk management, managing crisis, and attaining organizational goals through a problem-solving, highly inclusive and collaborative leadership style that embraces the development of positive community relationships across diverse communities and neighborhoods in order to achieve the mission and vision of the organization.
I joined the Milwaukee Police Department in 1985 and held the following positions/ranks:
Assistant Chief of Police (2008 to 2018)
Captain of Police (2005 to 2008)
Lieutenant of Police (2000 to 2005)
Police Sergeant (1996 to 2000)
Police Officer (1987 to 1996)
Police Aide (1985 to 1987)

- Jimmy Carterÿ As the Director of Incident management I am responsible for developing and executing the company’s enterprise wide critical incident management program. In this role I have worked with a team to establish an enterprise wide emergency notification system, a tabletop exercise program, risk assessment program, digitized emergency action templates for all locations with 50 or more employees, and tracking programs using Smartsheets and Sharepoint to ensure on-target goal attainment. I also oversee the development of a quarterly critical incident response newsletter. My current role allows me the opportunity to engage with all of our business units from our field operations, call centers, supply chain, retail stores, and more. The goal of keeping our employees, customers, and visitors safe while on Charter Communications property is a top priority for the company and me personally.
Responsible for managing and conducting investigations, both internal and external, criminal and personnel, over the ten-state Midwest Division. Also responsible for managing the security training program for delivery to the 16,000 employees within the Midwest Division from across all functional areas. Also conducted on site visits, completed security risk assessments, and engaged with our retail leadership team to mitigate issues in stores regarding theft and customer engagement with agitated customers.
Assigned to the Midwest Division overseeing the safety and security of over 16,000 employees and nearly 800 facilities. I oversee project management of all physical security projects across the ten state area of my division. I also provide security training for all employees, conduct security assessments of our facilities, work with vendors and contractors to complete project work, engage and collaborate with law enforcement on investigations, and manage the security hardware systems within our facilities. I work across the many functional business units within the company from our retail stores, to field operations, to our television network, and many more. I participated on the planning team for all new retail store builds, remodels, and relocations. Major metropolitan areas within the region include Milwaukee, St. Louis, Kansas City, Indianapolis, and Cleveland. Smaller metro areas include Madison, WI; Rochester MN; Grand Rapids, MI; and Akron OH. The ten states are Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Indiana.
I held the position of assistant chief of police from September 2008 until I retired from the department in February 2019. I was assigned as the bureau chief of the Criminal Investigations Bureau, the Neighborhood Policing Bureau, the North Command Bureau, the Central Command Bureau, and currently the Neighborhood Patrol Bureau.
As an assistant chief, I was a member of the Chief’s Executive Command Team, and the second-in-command of the department.
